Chapter 1: And The Wretched Exalted
A group of wretched religious fanatics is taking over the Old Stone Church in Havana. An occult influence is speculated. This is the prompt to prepare for session/chapter 1.
The Wretched is a cult with Eldritch ambitions. It is a society that hides in plain sight among sailors and townsfolk. This opens up the opportunity to explore the possibility that the mayor and some of his occultist people are behind this takeover of the Old Stone Church.
The Importance of the Old Stone Church
Why would the Wretched do such a drastic takeover of this old church? I believe the perfect relic to be housed in the temple would be the missing pages from the Necronomicon. The Ancient Relics portion of the book says: Pages from the Necronomicon: 'All creatures that can hear your voice test DR14 or lose d4+SPIRIT HP (ignore armor).
The Wretched is planning to use the pages to sacrifice the Catholic church followers, taking their souls to their altar at the Abyss and offering them to The Great Old One when the end of days is upon them. The priest of the church has been missing. This could lead to a possible hunt to find the elites behind the disappearance of Father Pio. Is he maybe dead? I believe we will uncover the truth in our thrilling journey.
